The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is a prestigious, fully funded program by the Hungarian government for international students. Tuition-Free Education: Full exemption from tuition fees for the entire program.
Monthly Stipend: HUF 43,700 (~EUR 110) per month for living expenses in Hungary, provided 12 months per year until the completion of studies.
Accommodation Contribution:
Free dormitory placement or
HUF 40,000 (~EUR 100) per month toward rental costs for the scholarship duration.
Note: In larger cities, especially Budapest, this contribution may not fully cover rental expenses if living outside the dormitory.
Medical Insurance:
Health care services according to Hungarian legislation (Act XXII of 2019)
Supplementary medical insurance up to HUF 65,000 (~EUR 165) per year per student
2. Doctoral (PhD) Programs
Tuition-Free Education: Complete exemption from tuition fees for the entire program.
Provided 12 months per year until completion of studies

Requirements
Note: This scholarship accepts Bachelor, Master, and PhD candidates. Each applicant should complete the fields and attach the documents required for their chosen degree.
Applicants must generally be non-Hungarian citizens
Self-financed students already studying in Hungary can apply again only if their Hungarian host university recommends them and their academic performance is above average.
Application Language: Applications must be submitted in English.
Proof of Language Proficiency: You must show that you meet the minimum language requirement set by your Host University.
English-Taught Programs: Usually require an English certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent), unless your previous studies were in English.
Hungarian-Taught Programs: Generally require B2 level in Hungarian; if you don’t speak Hungarian, a preparatory Hungarian language course is provided.
Hungarian Classes During Studies: Bachelor’s, Master’s, and one-tier Master’s students must take 2 semesters of Hungarian language, free of charge. Failure to attend may affect the stipend.
